Hi everyone, today we are going to get through some errors in IDM(internet download manager).
you might be facing slow downloads, not being able to integrate it with chrome, and the most annoying thing above all is that it'll show connecting but it'll never download your files for you.
under normal circumstances, it should show the size of the file before you click on start download but it doesn't. and when you press on download it stays at connecting.... forever. there are few things you can do to resolve this.
- open IDM and click on options
- select the proxy/socks
- click on get from IE
if that doesn't work, continue
4.from the same tab select the no proxy/socks then click ok
still not working?
check your firewall settings to see if its preventing IDM from doing its work
go to start>settings>control panel>windows firewall OR
stsart>settings>control panel>network and internet connection>windows firewall
on the general tab make sure that do not allow exception option is not selected
now switch to the exception tab, now allow access to internet for IDM by marking the check box beside it.
IDM is not in the list? do this...
click on add program then look for IDM form the list of applications click it and add it to the exception list. If IDM is not found in the list of apps you can add to the exception list, click the browse button and find the IDM.exe file (by default c: \program files\internet download manager\IDMan.exe)
after these configurations, IDM will do just fine.
Just in case it doesn't,
uninstall and reinstall IDM. remember to select full instead of default
